Surgical Services

Inpatient and outpatient surgical and recovery care is offered at all six hospitals in our health system and at the SurgiCenter, a freestanding ambulatory surgery center in Greenville.

Your treatment will include

  • Advice on how to prepare for your surgery, what to expect during your treatment and the best ways to make a fast, full recovery.
  • Professional consultation with your family doctor and other specialists.
  • Personal care and support to help ensure that your treatment is safe, successful, and as comfortable as possible.

Every surgery, every patient is unique
No surgery is routine from the patient's point of view. Every patient is unique, and every surgery is serious. We understand that patients and their families are concerned about surgical care. So we work closely with patients, families, and their family doctors to be sure that every question is answered and every concern is addressed.

And because every patient - and every medical condition - is unique it's important to have the right surgical team. Our surgical teams are experienced in caring for patients of every age with virtually every kind of medical problem. They perform more than 25,000 surgeries every year and are qualified to care for people who need

  • Cardiac or cardiovascular surgery (surgery involving the heart and blood vessels that supply the heart)
  • Bariatric or gastric bypass surgery (treatment to modify the digestive tract in order to achieve weight reduction)
  • Ear, nose, and throat surgery
  • Gynecologic surgery (the female reproductive system)
  • Neurosurgery (brain and other parts of the nervous system)
  • Ophthalmologic surgery (eye)
  • Orthopedic surgery (bones, joints, and connective tissue)
  • Plastic surgery (reconstructive or cosmetic treatment of the skin and underlying tissues)
  • Urologic surgery (the male reproductive system or of the urinary system in either sex)
  • Vascular surgery  (blood vessels)
