Bertie Memorial Hospital Development Council
The Bertie Memorial Hospital Development Council was formed
in March 2006. Its mission is to support health care programs and services at
Bertie Memorial Hospital through fundraising activities. As a division of the
UHS Foundation and under the leadership of chairman Jack Powell, the BMH
Development Council has grown tremendously.
Over the years, the Development Council has done incredible
work providing resources for improved nutrition and physical activity and
pediatric asthma management. In addition, the Development Council has supported
such programs as the Greater Wynns Grove Development Center Wellness Program,
Bertie Middle School Health Days, Albemarle Regional Health Services Breast
Cancer Program and Albemarle Regional Health Services Diabetes Education.
