Pediatric Heart Program

The Pediatric Heart Program specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of children with heart disease. These children receive highly specialized care from pediatric cardiologists, pediatric cardiac surgeons and a pediatric cardiac nurse clinician who coordinates all services from admission through discharge. The program provides acute care management, a full array of support services, physician consultation and patient follow-up for children from birth to age 18. Our surgeons perform about 130 pediatric open-heart procedures each year for all types and complexities of congenital defects.

Children and families of children who are referred to this program have access to accommodations at the Ronald McDonald House.

  • pacemaker implantation and follow-up
  • echocardiography
  • electrocardiography
  • exercise stress testing
  • tilt table testing
  • cardiac CT scan and MRI
  • fetal echocardiography
