Our Cancer Services include the most advanced treatments for
the people of eastern North Carolina. We make the latest
technologies available to our expert medical staff, nurses and
therapists. Combining national treatment protocols and the
highest standards of clinical quality, our team of specialists
takes care of hundreds of patients each year. At PCMH, you can
be assured that you or your loved one will receive
state-of-the-art cancer care.
We have a 31-bed oncology unit with four intermediate beds.
We have added a number of new programs that give our patients
new options for treatment and new hope for recovery. Some of
our most important initiatives involve programs that make
diagnosis and treatment easier and more convenient for our
patients.
One new program is our
Patient Navigator Program, which connects patients who have breast or gynecological cancers
to support and educational resources.
We also provide Gamma Knife Radiosurgery at the Gamma Knife Center.
PCMH Cancer Services supports basic science, clinical and
epidemiological research into the causes and treatment of
cancer and sponsors educational programs about cancer for
health professionals, patients and the general public. We also offer support groups and other events every month.
