Health Careers Academic Loan Program
University Health Systems has established a Health Careers Academic Loan Program to encourage residents of Eastern North Carolina to complete an approved course of study leading to a degree or certification as a health professional.
Students who accept these loans must agree to enter employment with University Health Systems for a defined period of time after completion of the course of study. Repayment of loans is waived upon completion of the work commitment. If you do not complete the work commitment, you must repay the loan. Opportunities are available within all UHS entities (Outer Banks Hospital, Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Chowan Hospital, Heritage Hospital, Pitt County Memorial Hospital and Bertie Memorial Hospital).

* Students do not receive funding before the semester begins. It can take up to three weeks after the signed contract is returned to the Health Careers office before money is received.
