Children's Hospital expansion

Children's Hospital

University Health Systems Children's Hospital   is the only tertiary facility in eastern North Carolina designed especially for pediatric patients. Children's Hospital provides compassionate, comprehensive care that relies on family participation to promote the health of the child. We are located on the main campus of Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

UHS Children’s Hospital is the only place in our 29-county region that is dedicated solely to providing children the specialized care they need. With  more than 170,000 pediatric patient visits in the last four years, we are preparing now to meet the future needs of our region’s children. The UHS leadership and Foundation board are committed to the construction of a three-floor addition to our Children’s Hospital.  Construction is scheduled to begin in 2011 and will include a specialized unit to care for children with cancer, blood disorders, sickle cell disease and kidney disorders. An expanded newborn convalescent unit is also planned to better serve the region’s need for neonatal care.
