Volunteering at University Health Systems
Making A Difference Every Day
Each day at our UHS hospitals, volunteers help deliver the high-quality, compassionate care our patients and their families deserve. Some volunteers work directly with patients, teaching crafts or playing games. Others do administrative work, such as filing, typing or answering telephones. Some volunteers work as lab assistants or nursing aides. We work hard to match your interests with a volunteer position that is right for you.
Volunteers at our hospitals range from retirees who want to contribute years of knowledge and valuable work experience to young people who want to get a head start on a rewarding career through our Volunteen program. As different as our volunteers are, they do share important qualities: they are caring, compassionate and willing to help others.
Benefits of Volunteering
You won't receive a paycheck. But what you will get from your volunteer experience is far more valuable. You'll meet new people, make new friends and gain important work experience. And, at the end of the day, you'll get the biggest reward of all, knowing that you helped someone who needs you.
