The University Health Systems Foundation

Purpose

The University Health Systems Foundation exists because of its donors. We’re here because you are. Every gift, every partnership, every program — it helps us bring better health to the communities we serve. The UHS Foundation includes partnerships with foundations at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and six community hospitals. The lives we touch in a 29-county region are countless. The outreach varies, from large-scale undertakings like the East Carolina Heart Institute at Pitt County Memorial Hospital to smaller programs like the outer Banks Hospital’s three-day skin cancer awareness campaign. No matter how big or small, it’s all appreciated. And it all makes a difference in the lives of the people of eastern North Carolina.

The Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation, an extension of The University Health Systems Foundation established to raise financial support for Pitt County Memorial Hospital, is currently raising funds for the construction of a new inner faith chapel scheduled to break ground in August 2009. More than half of the $2.3 million for this project has been raised. The new chapel is designed to serve people of all faiths as a meditative and reflective area where patients, family members and employees can seek solace during trials and rejoice in moments of happiness.   For more information on this initiative, contact Beth Sigmon at 252-847-1995.
