
For Residents & Fellows
Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) and the Brody School of
Medicine at East Carolina University work together to provide residents and
fellows with the optimal educational and clinical experience. PCMH serves as
the teaching hospital for the School of Medicine and is the flagship hospital
of University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina. PCMH is an 861-bed tertiary
hospital and the designated Level I Trauma Center serving 29 counties and 1.3
million residents of eastern North Carolina.
PCMH is the sponsor of the residency and fellowship programs
and is the employer of residents and fellows, while the Brody School of
Medicine provides the educational home and structure for the training programs.
Graduate medical education is an essential and integral part
of the academic atmosphere and clinical environment necessary to accomplish the
missions of the Brody School of Medicine and Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Administrative Residency
University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina and PCMH offer a 12-month administrative residency program that gives postgraduate candidates management experience at a large health care system.
